The most prominent thing I personally have done in music was to start and co-host a radio show called “nowlikephotographs” with my long time friend Chris for 4 years after college. We played any music that didn’t have words or vocals which included post-rock, ambient, neoclassical, jazz, bedroom electronica, surf, soundtracks and anything else we could get our hands on. We got to know a lot of great instrumental bands and be a part of one of the best music local music communities in the country (Minneapolis is seriously an amazing place for music). The show is still broadcasted live on KUOM Radio K from 7-9pm central standard time every Wednesday night. You can listen in the Twin Cities at 770AM, 106.5 FM or 100.7FM or if you’re outside the area you can go online and stream it based on how fast your internet connection is:
The show also archives episodes so if you can’t listen on Wednesday nights you can listen any time at Radio K’s website.
Podcast
To accompany the show we started a podcast about 3 years ago. You can subscribe to it by clicking here or by just search for “nowlikephotographs” in the iTunes music store. The episodes are posted once a week usually around Wednesday night and features a full length track with me talking a little bit about it before and after. And if you are still reading all this and dig the instrumental music you can be our friend through MySpace at myspace.com/nowlikephotographs.
