Music

Radio

The greatest thing I personally have got to be a part of with music was to start and host a public radio show for 4-years after graduating from college.  It was called “nowlikephotographs” and was hosted along with my long time friend Chris who I went to school with.  We played any music that didn’t have words or singing which included post-rock, ambient, neoclassical, jazz, bedroom electronica, surf, movie soundtracks and anything else we could find that was instrumental.  We got to know a lot of great local and national instrumental bands and be a part of one of the best music local music communities in the country – Minneapolis is seriously an amazing place for music that I stumbled on when going to college there .  The show is still broadcasting live with new hosts today on Radio K so check it out. You can listen in the Twin Cities at 770 AM, 100.7 FM or 104.5FM or if you’re outside the Minneapolis metro you can go online and stream it:

Podcast

To accompany the show we ran a podcast for about 3 years along with the broadcast.  You can still grab the old episodes by clicking here or by just searching for “nowlikephotographs” in the iTunes Music Store.  Each episode features a full length instrumental track with a little bit of a description by Chris and myself.  And if you are still reading all this and can’t get enough instrumental music you should check out the MySpace page at myspace.com/nowlikephotographs.
